Call of Duty World at War on Playstation 3 is irritating me

Sometimes it seems that the world is against me when I try to play Call of Duty World at War online. It's not that the game isn't good or anything there's just some issues I have with the game and the Playstation 3 Online in general.

First, PS3 online is free which is awesome, but it seems that this means players host the servers for games vs a real server (ie on the pc). There's so many times I try to play a game online and get "Game Lobby Closed", or better yet, you start getting in a nice grove and kill the host too fast and you get the "Host ended game". Couple this on top of the not too uncommon "Game ended due to poor connection to host".

Sure, it doesn't happen everytime. When it doesn't you're usually just put in a game where one team is getting their asses whipped which results in most of the losing team leaving ultimately freeing up your new spot in a stable game but unwinnable. But hey atleast you can play. It's not so bad as long as you're not as unlucky as I am most times. I seem to die 80% of the time because the whole other team spawns right behind me right after I spawn. I swear it's like the game is just saying "dude, turn off the system".

Why couldn't the game makers atleast allow us to create our own games if it's all player hosted? I can't complain much about the hosting ending the game that's common in anything but why not atleast force-balance teams upon players leaving so you don't join a lopsided game, or not connect you to games with high pings. Other than that it's a pretty good game if you can actually play.

I usually play headquarters so a good team is important if I play FFA or TDM I don't have much issues with finding a stable game but when I deal with it it's like 5 or 6 times in a row and you almost want to break your controller. So I bought the Map Pack about 2 weeks ago for $10 in the PS3 store. I don't like any of the maps really at all, one is not too bad though. How much do I need to pay for you to give respawn invuln for 2 seconds or make the respawning not suck so bad? I'll even throw in an extra $5 for you to make the Artillery worth a damn.

That's another thing that irks my nerves. The Artillery is about useless as all hell. The dogs are easily the best weapon in the game but the artillery is useless. I almost am not sure if I'm doing something wrong (I don't think so) but perhaps I kill too quick but it seems like even more of a waste to give the recon/artillery rewards if you cannot even use them once you get the next one. Allow me to explain a little bit.

It's not uncommon for me to multi streak a game and often I'll get recon and before I can use it I'll have to cap a few guys. Lets say you are up 2 kills and you're trying to take the HQ and planted 2 betties. While capturing enemies run in and you shoot 1 and the betties take out the other. You go from 2 kills to 5 real fast and you can use artillery now but not recon. Same goes for Dogs. I've been in a few situations where I've got recon and then got lots of kills really fast and before I could artillery I hit Dogs so I could not even use it. It's frustrating.

Assuming the universe is properly aligned and all goes well this is probably my favorite game to play. It's love hate, for sure.
