Do all Missouri drivers suck or just the ones around my town?

OK I really don't want to spend time complaining about this but it's seriously to that point. My girlfriend insists I'm just a speed demon and have road rage but I digress. Sure, I do like to drive fast and I can have road rage but it's often warranted.

I don't drive a whole lot. Maybe 200 miles a week and that's 90% just to pickup my girlfriend and take her home. We spend around 5 days a week together. So I'm on the highway a lot. I see some stupid shit all the time. It seems to just get worse and worse everytime I'm on the road.

Too often I see people doing 30-35 on the fucking highway. Call me crazy, but isn't the speed limit 55? And isn't the general rule of thumb "do +10~ unless you spot a cop" ?! I drive 70-75 usually, but I don't mind doing 55 at all in high traffic but for fucks sake can we keep it at the POSTED SPEED? The irony here is that once we hit the town inbetween mine and hers, where it's 45 everyone does 55-60 through there!, yet, once on the highway again, its like "hey lets just do 40-45 to piss off Bryan" or something.

I've seen damn near everything. People driving on the wrong lane for 1/4th a mile or more (drunk) without realizing it. I've seen accidents, rear enders, etc, etc. Well, today there was some dickhead stuck in front of me ONCE I got on the highway. I was like, OMFG please make a turn, but no such luck. This guy was atleast 2 foot on the shoulder (which is all of 2 1/2 feet wide if you're lucky!) or 1-2 feet in the other lane. Look, it's not that fucking hard to stay between the lines or even not to go beyond +5-6 inches on either side. We are lucky to have rumble strips on our highways and how that didn't annoy the shit out of him I don't know. Well, I didn't, until about 5 miles up the road.

We dropped to twenty fucking 6 miles per hour on the highway. I thought this guy was just being a dick but his constant swerving had my gf and I wondering what the hell. This was at 5pm , so there was high traffic and this was dangerous enough to make me drop back 50-100 feet atleast 4 different times over 12 miles. Well, my girlfriend noticed this chick (we thought it was actually a dog at first) who kept popping up every few minutes, tossing her hair back, and dissappearing better than a David Blane's fan base. Someone was getting road head. I was expecting a cellphone talker (way too common), or the almost as common dumb bitch putting on makeup, or even the new fad of even dumber fuck trying to text while driving. It's not every day you see road head in action!

None the less, I was seriously about to follow this guy and beat his fucking ass. I almost wrecked 2 times because of this fucking idiot. The road rage was definitly there!. This is merely one instance of atleast 5 I deal with a week (in maybe 15 trips I make). I'm getting to the point where I almost want to bring a bb gun or something and shoot out their tires and see how good they can steer then. I would never carry a gun in my car, bb or real, simply because I'd totally use it.

Now, there's another thing that pisses me off. Why is everyone starting to decide that the blinker no longer has a purpose? Is this common for other people too? It happens to me in town all the time. People will just turn roughly 5 feet before the turn and they don't slow down or use a blinker at all. It's bad enough I have to ride my brakes in town all the time but the blinker thing is becoming so fucking common I'm going insane. I've almost rear ended people a few times because of it in the last 2 years.

Like I said before, slow drivers are becoming so much more common. Maybe it's because almost all the new cars are weak as shit and can't accerlate for crap. But I see people driving 30 through town all the time, or 35, and I have to break CONSTANTLY. I don't even hit the gas I just roll faster I suppose, I'm not sure what the problem is but on top of that these are usually the assholes who decide to make a turn in 1 1/2 seconds from where we are without a blinker, which may be fine for him doing all of 20 fucking 5mph but I'm doing 40 and it takes a lot longer to brake for me, not to mention, I drive rather heavy cars on top of that.

I used to love driving, but now it's almost too annoying to want to do. I try to drive at night if possible so I don't have to deal with the mass amounts of idiotic people who can't drive for crap. Or maybe it's because Americans are stupid these days and that's just that.

Then again, it could simply be that I am truely a speed demon with severe road rage, but if these were isolated incidents than that would just be life for you, but it's almost the norm anymore. What has been changing? Are people just multitasking in their driving anymore so they're far more conservative to decrease the likelyhood of their stupidity causing them an accident? After all, it's not like you'd want to fess up to the probable reason you're driving like shit and pissing me off.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll see lots more horrible drivers on the road tommorrow. I think they need to up the requirement to drive from 80 on both tests to 100 on written and 95 on driven (I can't parallel park for crap okay?] to cut back on this garbage. Also give out tickets for going too slow. And as much as I see the funny ass anti-drunk driving commericals on TV I can pick out atleast 10 over the weekend when I'm on the roads for a mere 4 hours or so total. Our cops are always at the gas stations chatting and eating the donuts. They get free coffee too. You'll see 2-3 cars at everyone.

I really want to complain about our roads too. Maybe another time. They're so fucking bad... but that's another time I suppose.

Here's to hoping I don't run the next dick off the road. I'd hate to scratch either of my cars.
