... oh no! you found me.

I'm getting a Blood Python

Lately I've really wanted to grow my reptile collection; they're great pets. I've had them half my life, but no new additions in quite sometime.

I've not had Pythons in over a decade either. I've stuck to the boa mainly, but I remember the first Blood I saw grace the cover of one of the late 90s REPTILES Magazine cover. Beatiful snake. Fat little critters too (which is cool).

I've been spending sometime over at redtailboa.net and believe I've finally found a reputable place online to order one. Obviously I'd rather pick it up locally but there's no Bloods around here I've checked.

Speaking of my boas, and the new Blood (I might actually get two) I've been wanting to upgrade the cageing systems I have. Getting large cages locally is also quite the chore but I believe that I might be using the BoaPhile Cages. There's lots of nice setups there, specifically of interest is the 422D Combo Cages -- this would house my large boas and the 2 new Bloods I want without a big problem. It'd also fit almost without much problems exactly where my current largest Boa, Morty, lives. He's in 4 x 2 x 6 custom cage so while the 4 x 422D combo w/ pedistal will be a foot taller than his current setup my point is that the nice stackability of the BP cages will allow me to have more snakes in the same space (actually gaining some room) which is awesome. It was tough to decide BP or AP but I'm pretty much sold on the BoaPhiles.

Apart from my latest spark of passion for my reptiles and growing the collection (there's actually several things I plan to add in the next year or so) I've not been doing much. I need to resume work on programming the new d2supplies website but as per usual I only really want to work on in it in spurts ... not constant.

So, considering the amount of time the BP cages will take (5 weeks or so after ordering, which I've not done yet) to come in I really can't wait that long to grab a Blood or two (I do want two... I want 100! but, 2 bloods and the new cages (plus temp cages for the bloods while the BPS are being built) will set me back $3k-3.2k -- as opposed to $2.5k or so for just one blood but they're so adorable. I'm pretty sure I'll get two. It's just two damn temp tanks and heat and such will cost an additional $200-300 without even trying. I'd much rather just skip that and purchase a ReptiRack along side of the normal cages for smaller snakes. I've wanted to pickup another kingsnake or two, perhaps some corns or milks.

I.... just don't think I can wait! Top that off with the fact the person I believe I'll be picking them up from won't hold the one(s) I want -- first come first serve so time is an issue on these. I can't wait! Ahh...! I've wanted a Blood for 5 or 10 years

I'm going to end this post. I could ramble on for a longggggggg time about this or that on setups and reptiles I'd like to get this year. Here on the 24th of this month down in St. Charles there's going to be a reptile expo at the convention center. Should be cool. I want to go. Also that day is UFC 104 (Shogun vs Lyoto) which is going to be a great fight. October 24th might turn out to be a really fun day.

That's it, move along now..

I've placed my order for the new cages and sprung for an additonal 5 tub rhinorax setup as well. It's going to suck waiting 4 - 5 weeks to get everything... but I'm just glad I went ahead and made the order.

Ah, sounds fun. I'm scratching the expo I think it's more like for dogs and other animals. Talk about some false advertising from the one ad I originally saw.
