Finally caught up on TUF 9

Posted: Saturday, April 25th, 2009 @ 01:22 AM under TV

I've got so much stuff piling up on my DVR these days since I started some new projects but I finally got caught up on The Ultimate Fighter Season 9, and so far it seems more of the same as far as what's going on in house. Already have some petty games being played, played primarily by one one person on Team USA's team. It's obvious this guy is nervous or attention-starved as he's the one who always initates it. His plan is not working though, because I don't even know his name and now refer to him as "guy who should of been on The Ultimate Writer" -- writing on people's clothes? That's retarded.

OK, now we did have some egg throwing with hickboy from season 8's brother. I won't even mention their names; I don't feel they deserve any kind of mention on this here PRESTIEGEOUS website. The Browning brothers both suck and need to quit MMA and go get a job on reality tv. Thank god he got beat and didn't join the house, but who knows, the UFC will probably let him come anyways. They always have people who didn't make it on the show still on the show incase someone gets hurt. Unfortuantly, I'm sure we'll see more jb jr.

As for the teams, well, I'd have to say Team UK is looking better. I'm already a Michael Bisping fan but I'm really enjoying his bickering with Team USA. I think it's hysterical that you have this entire group of guys trying to get in the other teams head by writing on their property multiple times yet the target teams coach says a few things and half their whole team gets broken mentally about it. It's going to obviously effect some of these dudes. Bisping is keeping it interesting while Team USA makes it boring.

I'd like to comment on Episode 4 fight Mark Miller vs Nick Osipczak. This was an awesome fight. Lots of domination by Nick but Mark kept coming back, even landing atleast 2 shots which might of KO'd a lesser man than one Nick Osipczak who started working submissions and GNP. There was a close triangle attempt that Miller escaped but eventually the right high kick KO'ed Miller. It looked exactly like Gary Goodridge's KO on Don Frey.

I'm looking forward to seeing some more of the UK team. I've grown bored of the Americans on the show because it seems as if they are selected to be a stereotype. I'm not anti-American or anything (I am American!) but most all the good lesser talent belongs to one of the many smaller promotions around these days. The UFC tries too much to build stars out of green people and it makes for boring fights, but interesting reality tv (so it sells). The UK team seems to be mentally where no one on the American team seems to really be and fighting is 90% mental.

So to wrap it up I'd say so far TUF 9 is not too bad. I have not yet decided who might win the show and I don't really have any favorites. Need to see more fights for that.

Catch Episode 5 Wednesday nights on Spike TV
