... oh no! you found me.

So the Affliction Trilogy card has been cancelled

All because Josh Barnett has tested positive for some steroid or something or the other. This sucks for many reasons. First off, Affliction doesn't put out but a few shows a year, and the last one was a while back. This isn't good for that reason alone. Secondly, we have the Fedor vs Barnett fight. Probably the biggest fight in MMA since Fedor vs Cro Cop and now it's gone before it started. That's truely a shame.

I was also looking forward to the Babalu vs Mossasi fight, and not to mention, every Affliction card has been of stellar quality that all promoters should strive for, so that in itself makes it even shittier.

This, coupled with the Strikeforce issues crippling their August card as well it's not a good month we're heading in to for MMA. I guess I can be semi glad we can rely on the UFC to put out one or two good fights a month, too bad the majority of their fights suck balls.

Barnett, I'm very dissappointed. I'm sure I'm only one of several hundred thousand or million, but, this being the second time now and all don't expect much more support from your ex-fans.

Update: Seems Affliction is going to cease promotions all together. Not too big of a deal I suppose. They didn't produce enough cards to be a big player, but their cards were great when they did the whopping two we got.

RIP Affliction, another bites the dust. Good thing we still have Strikeforce, the most likely future dominate force in MMA [I called it here folks].
